QuickDoc visit guide

Rapid testing and lab work

Testing can be part of understanding a health concern, but the right test depends on your symptoms, history and reason for the visit. QuickDoc lists rapid flu, COVID-19 and strep testing, along with lab work and screenings. Call your clinic to confirm the specific test you need.

Testing for symptoms

If you have a cough, sore throat or flu-like symptoms, tell the clinic when they started and whether you have already tested. Your clinician can discuss whether testing is appropriate and what the result means for your care. Testing does not automatically mean an antibiotic or another prescription will be needed.

Blood work and screening questions

QuickDoc’s listed lab services include cholesterol, glucose and thyroid testing. Ask whether your requested test is available and whether a clinician’s order is required. Do not fast or change your medicines based only on a general webpage; obtain the instructions for your specific test from the clinic.

Before a testing visit

A short call can help you avoid arriving without the information or preparation your test requires.

  • Confirm the exact name of the test, especially for an employer or outside provider.
  • Ask about visit requirements and any preparation.
  • Bring relevant orders, prior results and your medication list.
  • Ask about the visit fee, test charge and any separate laboratory billing.

Know how to receive your results

Result timing varies by test and whether a sample is processed elsewhere. Before you leave, ask when results are expected, how you will receive them and whom to contact if they do not arrive. Ask whether another visit is needed to discuss results or next steps. The website does not guarantee a specific turnaround time.

Common questions

Are all tests available every day?

Availability can vary. Call your chosen QuickDoc location before traveling for a particular test.

Are laboratory charges included in the $65 self-pay visit?

Do not assume they are included. Ask about the visit, testing and any separate laboratory charges before proceeding.

Can I use a test result for work or travel?

Confirm the required test type, timing and documentation with the organization requesting it, then ask the clinic whether it can meet those requirements.
